Disinformation, Misinformation & Truth: What’s at Stake?

March 8, 2022

On its face, misinformation seems like an obvious problem. Things should be true, right? But because misinformation has different impacts on different people – and because there’s so much of it – pinpointing the exact issue isn’t always easy.

Last week, we spoke with three people about their unique experiences when it comes to misinformation and you can catch the recap here. Dr. Krishnan Narasimhan, chair of Doctors for America, spoke about the impact misinformation has on doctors, patients, and public health. Hillari Lombard, host of the Moderate Party Podcast, reports what she’s heard from listeners, including some whose closest family relationships have broken down as a result of online misinformation. And Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III, senior pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, brings a perspective from the pulpit, plus recommendations on how to leverage personal relationships for good.

Many thanks to our hosting partners at the Convergence Center for Policy Resolution, Interfaith Youth Core, and More in Common.
